A Kids' Room at a Wedding

The Kid's Room

Weddings are a wonderful event for family and friends.  What about those friends and family members with children?  At my wedding we hired two babysitters (neighbors who we trust!) to babysit in a spare conference room at the country club where we were.  This was genius!  They brought movies, games, and so much more.

I provided each child with a goodie bucket full of the following items:

1.  Coloring books
2.  Crayons
3.  Temporary Tatoos
4.  Plastic figurings that the child liked
5.  A little bit of candy
6.  Stick on earings for the girls
7.  Animal crackers
8.  Stickers
9.  Glow sticks - what child does not like glow sticks?
10.  Anything else I found at the dollar store or party store that was cheap!

I put all of these items in buckets and placed them in the "kids room."  Parents loved this idea. Many brought pack-n-plays and put their children to sleep while we danced into the night.  People were very happy about the arrangement and told me they stayed at the wedding because they knew their children were safe and taken care of.

The country club kept the supply of cookies, milk, and fruit for the children.  All children (13 of them under the age of 10!) were allowed to come into the wedding reception.  I just loved to have everyone around!!!
